I am a big believer that things always happen for a reason. So when I moved to Montreal last year, from Ottawa, I was sure there was going to be more to it than just the experience of living in a different city. Before I explain my breakthrough moments, there are two things you should know about me. The first: I live for adventure, and the second: I love creative expression.
I graduated from University three years ago. In that time I have worked in coffee shops and restaurants. While these jobs have taught me excellent people skills, they have not offered me a creative outlet. It was only in the last year that I finally discovered where my creative instincts could be put to use. The answer happens to be in graphic design. Discovering this field, and then choosing to go back to school to learn how to do it, was one of the best decisions of my life.
Montreal has provided me with the opportunity to grow my creative talents, but at the same time it has also given me the chance to discover an abundance of things to do in this beautiful city. With the restaurant that I work at now, I am always guaranteed to have my Sundays off. While some people who work into the wee hours of the morning want to spend the next day sleeping until dinner, I always prefer to wake up at a decent time to start a different adventure. For the last year I have done something different every single Sunday, and I want to start sharing that with everyone. If you’re like me, and you don’t have a date with your pillow for the day, then maybe what I am doing and what I write about will inspire you and give you ideas to get out and explore.
So here I am with two different passions: creativity and adventure, and I want to bring them together in this website. I have two goals. The first is to share a different Sunday adventure in blog posts every week. And the second is to generate business for SERENA designs. Every image and design I post will be my own. So I leave it to you, my readers, to continue reading my blogs for Sunday inspiration. And, if at the same time my work interests you, get in touch with me. I would love the opportunity to create for you.
